Wow, I can’t believe it is already New Year’s Eve and 2014 is upon us! The past 12 months have been such a busy and crazy time for me, but if I could pick any year in my adulthood that was “my year” then it would definitely have to be 2013.
Looking back:
If you read my blog then you know that 2013 was a.l.l. about my dietetic internship. I decided back in January that I was going to try to go for it and become a registered dietitian. I applied to 5 DI programs and found out I was matched with Utah State University’s Dietetic Internship program in April. The match process was pretty involved and very competitive. Match day was probably one of my top moments of 2013!
I finished a didactic program in dietetics and got my verification statement.
IΒ flew to Salt Lake CityΒ by myself for my internship orientation… what an amazing experience!
I completed 6 months of rotations andddddd I finished my dietetic internship in November!! Walking out of the health department on the very last day of my internship was one of the happiest moments of my entire life.
I also turned 28!
Looking Forward:
I don’t really make resolutions anymore but there are a few things that I would like to accomplish this year. The first is pretty obvious but I would like to pass my RD exam so I can officially be a dietitian and get licensed.
I am also looking forward to having more of a ‘normal’ in 2014. While this past year was awesome in many ways, all of that did not come without personal sacrifice. I was very focused on school work and my rotations during my internship so I missed out on a lot of things with family and friends. I am looking forward to having more of a balanced life where every waking moment is not spent thinking about papers, tests and homework.
I’d also like to spend more time focusing on my health, and hopefully I will take the blog in this direction. I had a hard time prioritizing workouts and eating healthy during my rotations, and I’ve carried that over into the holidays. I’m planning on cooking at home more, working out more regularly and getting back into running this year.

We don’t have any big plans for NYE this year. We just got home from visiting family for the holidays so we will be hanging out at home tonight. I will be very surprised if either of us last long enough to see the ball drop.
To anyone reading this: I hope 2014 brings you good health, love and happiness <3
