Hey friends! How are you today? How was your weekend?
Thank you all so much for the well wishes after Friday’s post. That night was not too fun. But there was a silver lining…
On Saturday, I faced a serious dilemma: I still felt completely awful but had a mountain of Christmas shopping left to do. I knew I needed to get it all done this weekend, so at 10am I finally rolled out of bed, medicated myself and braved the malls to complete my holiday purchases.
I basically learned that shopping at the mall on the Saturday before Christmas while getting over strep throat is probably a lot like what being in hell is like. The crowds were s.o.a.w.f.u.l. there. I couldn’t wait to be done so I could get back home.
Thankfully, K came with me to make the trip more bearable. He was my chauffer, carried all of the bags and stood in line for me when I needed to take a breather. What a guy. A few hours and several tylenols later, everything was purchased and we were back at home. Mission accomplished.
And I mayyyyy have also picked up a little something for myself.
I have been looking for a small cross body bag to be able to stick in my work tote(so I don’t have to carry 2 bags) and I fell in love with this bag earlier this month. I used a Christmas check from my grandmother to make the purchase so thank you, Grandma <3
And then I went home and got to wrapping! I typically don’t decorate for Christmas because our apartment is small, our Christmas decorations are in storage and we usually go out of town for the holidays. But we are staying in town this year and I guess the Christmas spirit got the best of me.
I know it’s not a lot but I kind of love the little tree.
And I got a little festive with my nail decorations! I was inspired by someone on instagram but my nails don’t look quiteeeee as good as hers. And for good measure, I included a temporary tattoo.
Sooooo I need to ask you guys if anyone watches the Real Housewives of Atlanta. How awkward was that scene with Phaedra and Apollo last night?! I felt so uncomfortable. That show is my guilty pleasure!

Welp, I’m off to begin this crazy week. I still need to make a grocery list for our Christmas meal, go shopping and order meat from the butcher. I’m also working everyday this week except for Christmas (I’m on call) and we have a work dinner this evening. I’m a busy bee this week but I’m looking forward to the Christmas excitement!
Are you working this week? Not gonna lie… kinda miss the days when I had a school dietitian schedule. I would be off of work for this whole week if I was still in that field
What are you eating on Christmas? I’m making prime rib, mashed potatoes, roasted brussels sprouts, a mixed fruit bowl and something else that I haven’t decided yet.
P.S. Lily was really cute this weekend. She can always tell when I’m sick and is super cuddly.
I went to the mall too this weekend and it was horrible! I felt so stressed the whole time. Luckily I was only in an out for one thing. Love the festive nails, so cute.
Holidays at the malls are the worst. Hopefully I won’t need to go back there until after the New Year.
UGH, the mall is crazy around this time of year! Thank goodness for milkshakes to help you power through :) What kind did you get? Their seasonal peppermint ones are SO good!
I always get the cookies and cream. I’m a creature of habit :)
Raising hand, totally RH junkie here. That scene was so uncomfortable, their whole relationship is so awkward right now for sure! I love your mani, so cute & festive :) Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you as well!
