I’m a little late getting this post up today. On the one hand, I hate that I may have missed some morning readers but on the other hand, I kinda like blogging in real time instead of scheduling posts in advance.
Today has been completely gorgeous and I just got back from a 4 mile walk on the greenway. I’m pushing 14,000 steps on my FitBit, too. #winning
Okay, so moving along… I’m linking up today with Peas and Crayons for a What I Ate Wednesday post of yesterday’s meals. Enjoy!
I had the day off and was originally supposed to meet my friend for breakfast. But then our plans changed and I ended up having the morning to myself. I had an appointment later in the afternoon so I thought it would be fun to go out to lunch solo, so I opted for a smaller, simple breakfast.
1 egg and 1/2 avocado (that was on its last leg, by the way)
With a side of coffee
I have family coming in town this weekend so I ended up deep cleaning my apartment that morning… washing sheets, scrubbing bathtubs, cleaning the kitchen, etc. Heck, even the dogs got a bath. Before I knew it, it was 12pm and I realized I was hardly going to make it to my appointment, let alone be able to go out to lunch beforehand.
I ended up grabbing a protein bar on my way out the door, originally purchased from Aldi.
I think this is a perfect example of why it’s a good idea to have some snacks like this on hand. I don’t like to eat processed snack bars all the time, but they fill the void when you’re short on time. With 170 calories and 10g of protein, I knew this would hold me over until lunch.
After my appointment, I ventured to Fresh Market to browse their
candy aisle healthy foods. I may or may not have ended up with those gummy raspberries that I’m obsessed with. At first I thought a salad sounded good, but then I saw some turkey chili on their hot bar and I knew that would hit the spot on a cold and dreary day.
I went with a huge baked potato for dinner, topped with pork roast and greek yogurt on the side. The pork roast was from some leftovers, and its au jus sauce was great on top of the potato.
I also had a glass of milk on the side (not pictured)
Thoughts for the day: I’m kind of meh about this day. Some colorful veggies and another serving of fruit would have been ideal but I guess it also could have been a lot worse. At first this didn’t seem like a lot of food but then when I plugged everything into MyFitnessPal, it ended up being 1725 kcal… so please don’t leave me comments about how I don’t eat enough (yes, I’ve gotten those in the past and then feel like I have to count up all of the calories)
Hope you have a great evening!
Do you ever go out to lunch by yourself?
Anyone count calories?
Anyone else get not-so-nice comments about their meals on WIAW posts??
