I know I say this every month but I can’t believe April has come and gone. This year is flying by. I would normally say I don’t like it but I love spring and summer, so I will gladly welcome the month of May.
Here are some things I’ve loved this past month:
Essie’s “Mademoiselle” Polish: I have a slight obsession with nude polishes and I think this one might be THE one. The color is the perfect shade of light pink and IT IS NOT STREAKY!! Some nude polishes are really hard to work with but this one has a nice look with just 2 coats.
Bubble Baths: I was originally supposed to avoid heat after my surgery and then I never really knew when it would be okay for me to take a bath. And then I wasn’t too concerned about it because I was icing my knee so much anyway. Now that I’m not icing quite so much and my knee is not warm to the touch, I got the A-O-K to bath it up. This makes me so happy!
MAC Cremesheen Glass lip gloss: I lurrrrve this lip gloss. Aside from Bare Essentials, this might be my favorite lip gloss ever. The pigmentation, texture, and longevity is awesome and I love the color selection. My favorite color right now is Pagoda.
Polar Care Cold Therapy Unit: This ice machine is basically a cooler unit with different wrap attachments to pump cold water around your injured body part. I (obviously) got the knee wrap. You may remember that I didn’t purchase this initially… insurance didn’t cover it and it is pretty pricey. However, I really struggled with icing my knee throughout the day when I went back to work and that is why I ultimately decided to get it. It has been a complete lifesaver and I love it.
Knotted Earrings: I have talked about these on the blog before but I love these knotted studs (the brand is Giani Bernini from Macy’s). They are perfect for work and I have worn them almost every day for over 2 years. I get compliments on them all the time.
Wine: After taking a 2-month hiatus from drinking wine, I was able to enjoy a glass the other evening (okay, well I did drink some at a wedding right after my surgery but that night was full of bad decisions so we don’t need to get into that). Dear wine… I love you!
Ohh I will have to check out Mademoiselle today when I run out to the store. I’ve been looking for light pink and beige nail polishes that are not streaky, and that strike a balance of being not too light and not too dark.
That lip gloss is really pretty. I’ve always been a lip gloss girl, but lately I’ve been experimenting with matt lipsticks. It’s a scary but fun new world! haha
What lipsticks do you like? A matt look would probably be more appropriate for me at work but I’m definitely a gloss girl.

That polish looks so pretty! I usually go for a little bit darker polish, mostly because I never paint my fingernails, only my toes in the summer and they need some more coverup, because, running haha. But I would for sure use a color like that to for my fingers :)
Oh yes, dark polish on the toes. Always.
If you like that Essie shade, you should try Hi Maintenance by them! It’s the perfect “your nails but better” color :) I recently posted an April favorites post over at my blog, The Southern Stylista, if you want to check it out!
