Happy Monday! Hope you had a great holiday weekend. I was originally supposed to go out of town this weekend but I ended changing my plans towards the end of the week and staying around town. I’m so glad that I did because I really needed a few days to rest and recharge.
Fun in the Sun
One of my friends invited me to her house at the lake and we had a great time!
We spent the day enjoying the weather and the water, and I paddle boarded for the first time! I only mildly embarrassed myself… my friend’s 6 year-old son was doing impressions of me falling off of the board In all fairness, the lake was really busy and the water was rough. Perhaps I will get the hang of it better on a calmer day.
Once it got dark, we hung out by the water and watched a fireworks show. Very pretty!
I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to move to the lake.
I saw on the local farmer’s market website that they were going to be open on Saturday morning, so I made it a point to stop by before the laking festivities began. There is a man known as the Berry Man and I ended up getting a gallon of both blueberries and blackberries from him.
My obsession with fruit + cottage cheese continues, and all of the berries have been great for breakfast this weekend!
I also go the usual: squash, zucchini, cucumber and tomatoes. I picked up another watermelon as well, although I did not have the energy to destroy my kitchen trying to slice it. Maybe tonight.
Thanks for your tips last week about tips for not murdering my basil. My great aunt even sent me a message about it… she has the most amazing green thumb ever. Obviously I did not inherit that trait. I relocated all of my plants into larger containers and took them out of the biodegradable liners that they came in. I’m hoping this will do the trick. I wanted to take a pic but it’s been raining here all evening. Oh, and I also bought an additional basil plant so that I would have a better chance of at least 1 surviving plant, LOL.
I’ll be sure to post an update soon.
This weekend was the first time I have been able to ride my bike since my knee surgery. It was really just to see how I would do and I was limited to 10 minutes. I basically just rode up and down the few streets around my neighborhood, but it was great to feel the breeze on my face! My knee felt good so I’ll be interested to see what my PT says about it.
Do you grow any types of herbs/fruits/vegetables? If so, I’d love to hear your tips.
What did you do the 4th of July?
P.S. Don’t forget that my Erin Condren giveaway ends tonight at midnight!
