Hope your week is going well
On Tuesday, I had the opportunity to go to a preview event for Henry’s Hard Soda, a new beverage being launched by MillerCoors.
Henry’s Hard Soda is 4.2% ABV and comes in 2 different flavors: ginger ale and orange.
I’m not a beer drinker, so I always think it’s fun to try out other types of beverages. I really loved both flavors of the Henry’s Hard Soda, but ginger ale was probably my favorite. I thought the orange tasted like tang! Both were sweet but not TOO sweet, and I could see myself enjoying a bottle or two while tailgating or hanging out with friends. They will be hitting the stores in January in case you’re interested in trying them out.
The event was held at Slate Billiards on E Bland St. in Charlotte. Slate is a pool house that sits on the light rail line in South End. I had never been there before but I loved the atmosphere!
After the hard soda preview event, I met up with my friend, Meg. I grew up with Meg and she occasionally comes to the QC for work… I love it when we can meet up for dinner every and catch up every now and then!!
We decided to hit up Nikko for some sushi. I’ve lived in the Charlotte area for over 4 years and think Nikko might be my favorite sushi place. I’ve liked everything I’ve tried there. We couldn’t decide exactly what to order so naturally we ordered everything.
We got the Aged Dashi Tofu with Shrimp as an appetizer. OMG. It was SO good! The dish had tofu, shrimp, onions and shitake mushrooms. I’m sorry this picture doesn’t do it justice because it might have been the most amazing thing I’ve ever put in my mouth.
It was a fun night!
What have you been up to this week?
What’s your favorite type of sushi?
Do you like tofu? I am honestly not a huge tofu person but I freaking loved that appetizer!
