Hello, hello! Hope you guys had a great Labor Day weekend!
I traveled to Roanoke, Virginia for the wedding of one of my high school friends. Isn’t my hometown beautiful?
The wedding was on the rooftop of a downtown venue and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect night. The weather was great- not too hot, not too cold, and no rain. Roanoke is a valley so you could see all of the mountains around us.
Weddings make me feel completely sappy and this wedding was no different! The wedding party walked down the aisle and then the bride walked down a staircase above the rooftop and met her parents at the end of the aisle. She looked so beautiful and happy and the sun was setting in the background. There were not many dry eyes in the house!
Here is the happy couple being introduced at the reception:
I went to middle and high school with the bride- we were in marching band together It was great to catch up with old friends and see what everyone is up to these days.
I was also happy to see one of my good friends, Brian!
My whole family has moved out of Roanoke so I don’t visit often, but coming back every once in a while certainly brings back good memories from when I was younger. I also got to see my friend Allie, who is getting married in 2 weeks! Lots of love in the air these days
The rest of my weekend involved catching up on errands, cleaning, spending some QT with B and getting things together for the tri next weekend! I have a whole recap coming tomorrow but this week is my taper week and I am super grateful. Also, Virginia Tech won our first home game with our new football coach. GO HOKIES!
What did you do this weekend?
