Sorry to have been MIA so far this week. My Sunday and Monday were consumed with trying to find a dress for an event that B was just invited to this weekend. If you’re 5’2” and have thicker thighs and a booty then finding a dress to fit you is not the simplest of tasks!
I checked Rent the Runway first but all of the dresses I liked ended up not being available in my size for this weekend. So then I knew I was going to have to buy something. Shopping trip! I ended up looking online prior to my shopping trip and tried on the following dresses in Macy’s and Nordstrom:
I realized that every single dress was about a mile too long so I got the bright idea on Sunday not to buy any dress in the store and then order a petite size online. The problem with that was that I did not actually look at the sizes online until Sunday evening… and saw that the petite sizes were all sold out. Womp womp.
SO, I ended up buying a dress in the store on Monday and took it straight to the seamstress on Monday night (through 1.5 hours of traffic) to get hemmed so that it would be ready by Friday. I definitely had a few #jesustakethewheel moments but ultimately it all worked out. I will let which dress I picked out be a surprise but I love it!
B is traveling a lot for work over the next few weeks so we tried to spend some extra time together this weekend. We made steaks on Friday night.
And he let me help him pick out some mums for his front porch on Saturday.
Have I told you how much I love fall?! I put a wreath on his front door also, but I didn’t think he’d appreciate me posting his house number on the internet
I also fit in a greenway run.
This week has kind of been a bust so far. Monday night was spent dealing with the dress stuff and then I missed a local dietetics association meeting on Tuesday when I was late leaving work. I’m hoping things calm down a bit this evening (thinking of a miraculous bubble bath!) and I’m excited for the VT vs. Miami game on Thursday night.
And also, thanks for the nice comments on Friday’s post about starting my own private practice. I’m hoping to do a lot of things online and in the evenings starting out. The whole process is really overwhelming but I’m just trying to do things one by one and check them off of the list! My favorite thing to do is read other RD bloggers’ experiences to remind myself that we all have to start somewhere
What is up with you so far this week?!
Tell me something fun from this weekend!
Who has a recommendation for a new Garmin? I will probably be replacing mine this weekend.
